Midway Joe on October 8, 1998 and the just received Republic of China medal
"283 Campaign Badge of honor" 40 years after the Quemoy - Matsu crisis in the
Taiwan Straits. It was an honor to receive it but the medals came too late for
many of my former USS Midway shipmates who have since passed on.
