A great shot of the USS Midway making a sweeping turn to Starboard in the very early 1960's.
She still has all of the 5 inch gun mounts she was left with after the 1955-1957 overhaul. Note the A4-D Skyhawk on the lowered Number 2 elevator. The Skyhawk on the bow looks like a "Wrong Way Corrigan" |
