USS Midway docking in Subic Bay, P.I. at NAS Cubi Point's Pier Alpha after the Indian Ocean
cruise of 1980. At the start of the cruise the Midway collided with a ship named the Cactus in the straits near Pallawan and Borneo. Two crewmen were killed and three injured. Nine aircraft were lost to damage from the collision. |
