RAINDROPS ON THE WINDOW

1991 by Joe Brignone 06-14-91

1. The wind in the tree tops sings a soft and lonely song.
The rain is falling gently on the ground.
As I stare out the window, into the dark of night.
My heart is beating fast but there's no sound.

2. I'm listening for the footsteps, I know I'll never hear.
You're gone for good you're never coming home.
So I sit here in the darkness, watching raindrops on the window.
I never knew I could feel so much alone.

BRIDGE
The raindrops on the window, are drowning out your memory.
Just like the teardrops in my eyes.
It's hard for me to realize, that you are really gone
I didn't get the chance to say goodby.

3. There were so many tender words, I never got to say.
I really thought that we would have more time.
As you drove away this morning, you looked the other way.
Now I know you were never really mine.

4. So the raindrops on the window, are all that I can see.
I watch them as they slowly trickle down.
When they reach the bottom, they fall down out of sight.
Like you my love, the're gone without a sound.

BRIDGE
The raindrops on the window, are drowning out your memory.
Just like the teardrops in my eyes.
It's hard for me to realize, that you are really gone.
I didn't get the chance to say goodby.

I didn't get the chance to say goodby.
