USS Navasota AO-106 refueling USS Midway off Okinawa Sept 06, 1958. This ship along with the
rest of the Mispillion class oilers was "Jumboized" under the FY 1963-1964 programs. She was
transferred to MSC in 1976. (MSC units are disarmed and are operated by a civilian crew. A
Navy detachment remains on board to handle communications. Ships continue role of support to
the operating fleet.), She was later decommissioned and as of June of 1998 was being scrapped.
